Electrical Specialty Code (010879-23)

The 2023 Oregon Electrical Specialty code (OESC) is based on the 2023 NEC, published by the NFPA, approved as an American National Standard. The Oregon sections are in the form of a Table of Amendments to be used with the 2023 NEC.

The amendments are denoted as follows:

Added language is shown in underline.
Deleted language is shown in shaded strike-through.

Language contained in the 2023 NEC not listed in this table has not been amended by Oregon.

Oregon Electrical Safety Law: Chapter 479 (010880-23)

Chapter 479 Protection of Buildings from Fire include a compilation of the Oregon Statutes adopted by the legislature relating to the protection of buildings from fire.

Chapter 918 Divisions: 251-311 (010709-23)

Chapter 918 is a compilation of Administrative Rules governing electricians in Oregon. Oregon amendments to the 2023 NEC are in 918-305-0100 Table 1-E Division.

These rules are to be used alongside the 2023 Oregon Electrical Specialty Code. The 2023 OESC is based upon the 2023 NEC & Oregon amendments.
