by Builder's Book, Inc.

There has almost always been discussion about how much construction is going to cost. Owners can't be blamed for wanting a fixed price, while contractors seldom know in advance what the actual costs will be. As a result, many landscape contractors are let on a time and materials basis where the contractor adds overhead and profit onto each item and the bottom line total is the agreed contract price. This form provides for a straightforward statement of estimated materials and labor. It works well when properly used. Caution: This form should only be incorporated into a contract when the basis of payment is for time and materials. It is not needed and could lead to arguments when the basis of the contract is a fixed price.
